Piano lessons with Kelley are primarily focused on increasing a students’ music-reading capabilities through not only the playing of piano repertoire, but also playing games that aid in note-reading skills. Furthermore, Kelley has found that many piano students lag behind ensemble-based music students (i.e., school band or orchestra students) in their rhythmic proficiency and ability to keep a steady beat. As a result, most piano lessons end with clapping rhythm exercises–an activity that may sound potentially tedious, but is done in such a way that countless students have asked, five minutes into their lesson, “Can we clap rhythms now?” 🙂
Most piano students benefit from 30 minute lessons once per week, for which the monthly tuition rate is $95.
